Dear Youth in Christ, The month of May is upon us. Can you believe that school is almost out? It seems like it just started! As the school year closes, we continue to praise our Lord through the celebration of Sacrament, prayer, fun, socials, walks, training and more. It is here that we find God in the midst of our busy lives. Please looks at this month’s opportunities and prayerfully consider joining us in this great adventure we call faith! We start the beautiful month of May with the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. On May 1st 11 of our young people will be confirmed and sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit at St. Mary’s Church at 7:00 p.m. I would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join our confirmandi in this special celebration of faith. On May 3rd all High School and Jr. High are invited to an hour of Adoration at St. Mary’s Church. This is a perfect time to slow down and spend time with the risen Lord, the one who died for you and loves you more that you will ever comprehend! On May 5th our Jr. High and High School youth will be collecting money at each of the Masses for the “Walk for Life” to support the Hope Pregnancy Center. We will be walking on May 11th as a sign of standing with the unborn and promoting pro-life. Please stand with us as we stand with those who can’t stand for themselves! On May 8th the Jr. High will meet at the OMG youth room for a faith session. We will have food at 6:30 and begin our session at 7:00 p.m. Please note that all Jr. High are invited and encouraged to attend! Our Walk for Life will be taking place at Grangeville at St. Peter and Paul’s on May 11th. We will leave from St. Mary’s Church parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Please remember to bring your donations and money you have collected for the walk. Thank you to all who supported our youth on this pro-life fundraiser. Your support is a beautiful testimony of love and is greatly appreciated! Happy Mother’s Day to all of our lovely Mothers on Sunday May 12th! May God bless you all abundantly! You are treasured! I will be at a meeting on Monday night at Lewiston with a member of the diocesan staff on May 13th. On May 14th I will be attending our North Central deanery meeting at St. Gertrude’s Monastery. May 15th brings with an invitation for all High School youth and 8th graders to meet me at the Habit at 7:00 p.m. for coffee and a discussion as to the needs and desires for next school year Youth ministry. I really need your input and ideas to make this process fit your lives and feed your faith. I hope to see you there! (Coffee is provided!) On May 19th the Haiti team for 2020 will be hosting a pancake breakfast with sour dough pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit cup and juice or coffee. This event will take place at St. Mary’s Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart room at St. Mary’s Church! All proceeds for this event will toward our trip to Haiti in 2020. Thank you for your love and support. We greatly appreciate it! On May 22nd all of the youth who have been Confirmed who signed up to either be a lector or Eucharistic Minister will have a training at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s. On May 25th Summit Academy will be hosting Senior Graduation. Congratulations to Taylor, Kayla, and Teliana. May God bless you abundantly on your new journey in life! Thank you all for your presence in my life. I will miss you greatly! On May 29th youth ministry will be hosting our “End of the School Year” bash at St. Mary’s at 6:30 p.m. We will have food, games and fire. Everyone is invited to join us as we celebrate our beautiful young people and their accomplishments this school year! On May 31st Prairie High School will be hosting their Senior graduation. May God bless you all abundantly as you step out into new territory and may you know God’s greatness in all you do! Please know you are loved and will be greatly missed!
