October events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth,
The signs of Fall are definitely speaking their words as the shorter days and falling leaves become more visible. During this new season many things pull at us for our attention, in this mindset that I encourage you to spend time focusing on God and his invitation for you! We have many opportunities for you this month to be encouraged in your faith through prayer, service, retreat, learning and socials.  Please look at this month, where is calling you?
The Haiti Mission team will meet on Oct 2nd at the OMG at 7:00 p.m. to plan our Spaghetti feed. All 2020 team members are asked to be present!
Our Youth Adoration time is on Friday, Oct. 4th at 10:00 p.m.  I will be in Boise at a conference that weekend so I will have a substitute, but I encourage all youth to attend this hour with the Lord.  It is a beautiful way to start your month!
I will be attending the “Unbound” series in Lewiston every Monday during the month of October so I will not have any youth activities on Monday’s.  On Oct. 9th I will be meeting with a few adult men and high school boys at the Habit to begin planning a High School boys small group session.  Our hope is to begin monthly or bi-monthly sessions for our young men.  Jr. High please make sure you handed in your forms for the Jr. High Rally to Debbie by Oct. 11th so I can get you registered.
On Oct. 15th I will be meeting with my Confirmation adult team at the Habit at 7:00 to plan our end of the month Blessing Rite and retreat for all High School youth who will be Confirmed this year.  If you are not signed up and are in grades 9 through 12 and want to be Confirmed please contact Debbie and we will get you signed up.
On October 16th the Haiti mission team will be hosting a Spaghetti feed at the KC hall from 5:00 to 7:00.  This fundraiser will benefit the team that will be serving in Haiti in June of 2020.  Thank you in advance for your support for our mission endeavors.  We really appreciate our beautiful communities.  We are all, so blessed by you!
All High school youth who are helping with the Jr. High Rally skit are asked to meet with Debbie at the OMG on Oct. 22nd and 29th at 4:00 p.m. to practice.  Food will be provided following the practice.
On October 23rd we will have a Jr. High movie night.  We will be watching the movie “Breakthrough”.  All 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend.  We will begin the night with pizza at 6:30, followed by the movie.
On October 27th all youth signed up for Confirmation are asked to attend a Blessing Rite at St. Mary’s at 10:00 a.m.  Following the Blessing Rite, we will have a mini retreat at the CEC.  The retreat will begin with a breakfast.  I am asking the parents to please attend the last 45 minutes of the retreat to review and receive the information needed for the year.  The retreat will go from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Parents please arrive at 2:15 Your participation is greatly appreciated and always welcome!
On Oct. 30 the Jr. High and High School will meet for our annual canned food drive at the OMG at 5:00 p.m.  This night is called “Trick or Treating” for canned food.  All items collected go to the food bank.  Youth are encouraged to wear their Halloween attire and prizes will be awarded for the best outfit.  Also, dinner will be provided for the youth by local chefs who said “yes” to hosting a group.   Thank you in advance to all our amazing cooks who provide these wonderful meals for our kids.  You are the best!  More details about this will be in bulletin.  I will need drivers and chaperones for this night so please let me know if you are interested in helping.
May this month of October bring you peace and joy as you take time to be with Him, the God who loves you so much!
With a Grateful Heart,
Debbie
