City election results
City elections were held Tuesday, Nov. 5 with uncontested races in both Cottonwood and Ferdinand.
In Cottonwood there were two 4-year City Council terms up for election with Linda Nida being with 69 votes while Ben Schumacher was elected to the other post with 63 votes. Nida was elected to fill the post she was appointed to when Daniel Sigler moved to the Boise area. Schumacher will replace Jack Duman who retired from the council after many years of service.
Don Munkers was elected to a 2 year Cottonwood City Council term with 67 votes. He was appointed to his current position when Lynn Guyer moved to Montana.
In Ferdinand Ralph Schaeffer was elected to a 4-year term as mayor with 29 votes. He will replace Scott Oliver who declined to run for re-election.
There were two 4-year City Council positions up for election. Lori Schmidt was on the ballot and received 29 votes. Mary Ousnamer filed as a write-in and received 4 votes and will fill the other position. They will replace Judy Forsman and Mitzi Imhoff, both long-time Council members.
There was one 2-year position up for election with Jessica Stewart receiving 34 votes.
The new Councils will take over at the January meetings.
