Girls District Tournaments start next week
The girls 1A-D1 and 1A-D2 District Basketball Tournaments get underway starting next Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Prairie is the #2 seed and will play the #7 seed at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the LCSC Activity Center. At this point the #7 seed is likely to be either Kamiah or Potlatch. #1 seeded Lapwai gets a bye while #2 seeded Genesee will play the #6 seed at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
Troy and C.V. look to be the #4 vs. #5 matchup which will take place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 4.
The second round action will be Wednesday, Feb. 5. If Prairie wins their opener they would likely play Genesee at 7:30 p.m. for a trip to State. Lapwai would play the #4 vs. #5 winner at 6 p.m. that evening.
The losers of the 2-7 and 3-6 games will play at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with the winner advancing.
The District Championship game is set for Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Both teams in that game advance to State.
There are two loser out games set for Monday, Feb. 10 at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Those two winners will play Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will then play Wallace Thursday, Feb. 13 at Post Falls. The winner of that game then has to win another state play-in game Saturday, Feb. 15 at Fruitland High School
The 1A-D2 Tournament is taking place at Lapwai High School this year.
It looks like St. John Bosco will be in the #4 vs. #5 game against Deary. That will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 and is a loser-out game. The winner would likely play Kendrick at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 unless the Highland-Timberline play-in game winner upsets #3 seeded Logos. If Logos wins they would play #2 seeded Nezperce at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
Saturday’s winners will play Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. for the District championship and a berth at State.
Saturday’s losers will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11. The winner of that game plays the championship game loser on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. That winner would advance to a state play-in game Saturday, Feb. 15 at Grangeville.
