Riener award Governor's Cup scholarship
Local 2020 Prairie Jr./Sr. High School graduate, Brooklyn Riener, was recently awarded the Idaho Governor’s Cup Scholarship.  She is one of 25 students chosen out of more than 1,000 applicants to be awarded this scholarship.
The Idaho Governor’s Cup was established in 1974 by then-Governor Cecil Andrus. It is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to help Idaho kids pursue their higher education goals at Idaho state postsecondary institutions. It is available to high school seniors and home school students throughout Idaho. Academic and career-technical awards are offered to those students planning to further their education at an Idaho college, university or trade school and who demonstrate a strong commitment to public service. Academic scholarship recipients receive $3,000 per year, renewable for up to four years, or two to three years for career-technical programs, contingent upon the length of the program.
Brooklyn plans on attending Boise State University in the fall to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
