Covid-19 surge in the area
As the state opens back up there has been a surge in confirmed coronavirus cases within the past couple of weeks.
In Idaho County there had been just 2 cases from early on until just recently when 11 more cases have been confirmed bringing the county total to 13. So far there have been no deaths in Idaho County due to the virus.
Statewide the number of cases passed the 11,000 mark Monday July 13 with another 500 new confirmed cases. Ada and Canyon Counties are the state hotspots with 4,228 confirmed cases in Ada County and 2,086 in Canyon County.
So far northern Idaho has not been hit near as hard as southern Idaho with Kootenai County the only county in north Idaho with more than 100 confirmed cases at 715. Nez Perce County is second with exactly 100. Lewis County still has no confirmed cases and Clearwater County didn’t have any until 2 weeks ago and now has 5.
