Cottonwood City Council meets
The Cottonwood City Council held their regular October meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Amy Uptmor and John Watson of JUB Engineering gave an update on the storm water project. Later in the meeting the JUB Engineering contract related to the NRCS Storm Water Grant was approved.
Chuck Rogers, the new owner of the former Twins Bar building requested some relief on the outstanding utility bill as that was not generated by him. After discussion the council voted to give him relief on the outstanding bill.
In the reports Pat Holthaus reported they pumped 5 million gallons of water with approximately 8% loss.
Kent Rad was in attendance to discuss a small parcel of his property that adjoins the airport. He was looking at possibly deeding it over as the city currently mows it and it is of little use to him. Action was tabled pending a legal description.
The fire department had an extrication call.
Hall rental was waived for the VFW Voice of Democracy/Patriot’s Pen Award ceremony.
A catering permit was approved for an October 30 Summerfest fundraiser.
After discussion, action was tabled on Ida-Lew membership.
Employee wage increases were approved of 3%.
After bid opening, Hanson Garage of Orofino was awarded the bid for a new police vehicle. They will be getting a Dodge pickup and trading in the current vehicle.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
