The Prairie Pirates built an 8-0 lead then
held off a Clearwater Valley rally to win 8-7 on Senior Night Thursday,
May 6 at Cottonwood. . . .

Lady Pirates win 2 of 5, finish tied for second in league
The Prairie Lady Pirates closed out their regular season with 5 games in 4 days, winning 2 of them.
On Tuesday, May 4, they split a
doubleheader at Genesee, losing the first game 6-11 then coming back to
win 24-4. On Thursday, May 6, they won at Kamiah over CV/Kamiah 12-6.
Finally on Friday, May 7, they traveled to Potlatch and lost both ends
of a doubleheader 3-16 and 8-10. . . .
Update:
Prairie won their District play-in game against Lapwai 15-10 on
Wednesday, May 12 and will play Kendrick at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 13 at
Genesee at District. Win or lose they play again at 5 p.m. They need to
win at least 1 of the 2 games to advance to state.

Five
Prairie baseball seniors were honored after Thursday’s game against
C.V. From left with their parents and in a couple cases siblings are
Dean Johnson, Dalton Ross, Lane Remacle, Matthew Seubert and Connor
Schwartz. Prairie won the game 8-7 to clinch the #1 seed into District.

There is activity again at the
old Royale Hotel building which had new windows installed a few months
ago and now the lower level has been excavated out. Owner Ryan
Uhlenkott must have come up with a new idea on what to do with the
building.

PURPOSE award was given to staff that have volunteered their time to be
part of a committee that generates ideas to make NICI a great place to

From
left, Marissa Krause-Kelley, Dionne Gillum, Tara Mager were also
awarded the PURPOSE award. Marissa and Dionne are both
correctional case managers and facilitate treatment groups that are
provided to the residents at NICI. Tara Mager is an
administrative assistant in the school and enrolls residents into
classes to assist them with getting their GED’s. Marissa stated
that the best part of working at NICI is “ helping residents develop
new skills to enable them to be successful in the community.” Photo by

Josh Marks received a recognition award from SGT. Kristie Parker for
being a NICI team player and not using any sick leave this year.
The NICI management team was honored to appreciate the Correctional
Professional Staff. Each team member brings a unique strength
that contributes to helping residents change their lives and be
successful when placed back into the community. If you are
looking for an opportunity to work with great team members at a
