Pirates earn State berth
The Prairie baseball team went into District as the #1 seed but had to win the third place game to earn a trip to State. On Thursday, May 13 they lost to #6 seed Kamiah 3-9 but came back Friday, May 14 and held off #2 seed Kendrick 8-5 to earn a trip to State. The District games were both played at Orofino. . . .

Lady Pirates win finish second at District, earn State berth
The Prairie Lady Pirates earned a trip to the State Tournament this weekend at Caldwell by finishing second at the District Tournament. First they had to make it to the District Tournament as they beat Lapwai 15-10 Wednesday, May 12 in a play-in game at Cottonwood. On Thursday, May 13 at Genesee they opened District by Knocking off #2 seeded Kendrick 18-13 to earn a state berth. In the District Championship game later that day they lost to Potlatch 1-11 to earn second at District.  . . .

Matt Coppernoll won both the shot put and discus and Ellea Uhlenkott won the 100 hurdles at the Regional Track Meet at Lapwai Friday and Saturday, May 14-15. . . .
