Senior project is a success
By Ali Rehder
Saturday, June 5th, I hosted a golf tournament at the Grangeville Country Club for my senior project. The tournament/sponsorships raised over $5,000 and will be donated to A New Beginnings Adoption Agency in Boise, Idaho. I chose this organization because of the impact adoption has had on my family, with the adoption of my cousins Lincoln and Susie Ellis.
There were 14 golf teams, 56 golfers, with additional supporters present. The tournament winners were Bryson Higgins, Mitch Wemhoff, Riley Nelson, and Preston Hill. Riley Nelson also won the longest drive competition. The team of Brandon Higgins, Tanner Ross, Jared Higgins, and Marcus Higgins won the longest putt competition. Rhett Schlader won the closest to the pin competition.
I would like to thank all the participants, supporters, and sponsors for their generosity. My sponsors were Advanced Welding, Livewire Electric, Uhlenkott Well Drilling, Camas Prairie Mini Storage, The Habit, Inland Cellular, Mountain View Dentistry, Fred's Body Shop, Pacific Cabinets, Madden Enterprises, St Mary's Hospital, Cottonwood Foods, Schlader Photography, The Tire Guy, Riener's Grocery, The Hangout, Central Idaho Agency and Forsmann Accounting. I would also like to thank Ryan Uhlenkott for his guidance in how to host a golf tournament and my grandpa Jim Rehder for being my senior project mentor. Also thank you to Shiznits for making the delicious food and donating half of the proceeds back to my cause. My biggest thank you to my parents Jon and Renee Rehder for putting in the countless hours preparing for this tournament. Thank you everyone for making this event a huge success! I am blessed to live in a community that is so supportive.

There was a great turnout for the “Swinging for a New Beginning” Golf Tournament which was Ali Rehder’s senior project.  It raised over $5,000 for A New Beginning Adoption Agency in Boise. Photo provided by Ali Rehder.
