Artists sought for Lewiston Artwalk
Beautiful Downtown Lewiston (BDL) seeks artists to display and sell artwork at the 10th annual Artwalk, October 1-2, 2021. Over the past decade, this event has grown into one of the premier events in the historic city center, with over 30 locations participating in 2019. Due to the pandemic, the event was cancelled in 2020 and the local businesses are excited for its return.
“We are thrilled to host and enjoy the artwork of area artists in our downtown,” said Carolyn Honeycutt, Interim Executive Director of BDL. “Past experience has shown that Artwalk is a great opportunity for the merchants and artists to provide venues for people to experience a showcase of area talent, enjoy local eats and wineries, and embrace the arts.”
This year’s Artwalk committee has chosen retiring Lewis Clark State College (LCSC) Professors Ray Esparsen and Sean Cassidy as the 2021 featured artists. Esparsen shared his love of art and art history with students for more than 25 years. Cassidy also taught for more than 25 years, passing along his passion for video production and photography. The LCSC Center for Arts and History will host the work of both Esparsen and Cassidy for Artwalk.
The event takes places on Friday, October 1st from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, October 2nd from noon to 4:00 pm. Artists are encouraged to be present at their location during the event, but it is not a requirement.
Artists are invited to apply by visiting the BDL website beautifuldowntownlewiston.org/events, where a link to the application is available. A fee of $20 is required to reserve a spot. Artists may work directly with a downtown merchant or have a location assigned to them. Registration closes on August 31, 2021 or until all locations are filled.
Join BDL for 2021 Artwalk and celebrate the arts.
