JV team finishes 6-1

Prairie JV football ends the season at 6 – 1
A lot of the local schools have a challenging time fielding JV teams due to a low turnout of players and balancing playing time with varsity. Fortunately, Prairie football was able to put together a JV squad of 8 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 2 seniors playing their first year of football. Prairie football has a lot to look forward to over the next several years with a lot of underclassmen getting quality playing time this season preparing them for varsity play for years to come.
Notable games this year were the two games against the Lapwai JV squad. Like their varsity squad Lapwai has a solid group of under classmen that are talented and looking for any win against a Prairie football team. Fortunately, Prairie won both high scoring affairs. There is a good chance of seeing another Prairie vs Lapwai varsity matchup in the second round of the playoffs providing Lapwai pulls off a win against Clearwater Valley this Friday night.
Here’s a breakdown of the season for the Pirates JV.
Pirates JV vs Troy JV 52 - 28 win
Pirates JV vs Pomeroy JV 38 – 26 win
Pirates JV vs Logos JV 46 - 28 win
Pirates JV vs Potlach JV 62 - 6 win
Pirates JV vs Lapwai JV 66 - 42 win
Pirates JV vs Pomeroy JV 26 - 34 Loss
Pirates JV vs Lapwai JV 46 - 40 win
