Graduates receive awards
Jade Prigge, valedictorian for the class of 2022 at St. John Bosco, received the Excelsior Award as best overall in her class. The award also includes a $50 Citizenship scholarship from the Cottonwood Lions Club.
Prigge also received medals for 4 years of Drama, 4 years of basketball, 4 years of volleyball, 4 years of academic bowl, 2 years of government and an 80 hours of Apostolic Service Certificate. Scholarships she has been awarded include an LCSC Presidential Scholarship, $2,500 renewable for 4 years; Counselor Leadership Scholarship, $500; High School Leadership Scholarship, $500 and a Farm Bureau Participation Scholarship, $100.
Erin Wassmuth, salutatorian for the class, received the Patriot Award. She also received medals for 4 years of drama, 4 years of academic bowl, 2 years of student government, 1 year of volleyball and an 80 hours of Apostolic Service Certificate. She received quite a few scholarships, several she won't be able to use as she has chosen to attend Carroll College in Helena, Mont. The ones she will be able to use are the Carroll College Bishop Carroll Award of $23,000, renewable for 4 years; Borromeo Guild Grant, $3477, renewable for 4 years; Catholic High School Room Grant, $2,633, renewable for 4 years and the Idaho County Farm Bureau Scholarship, $2,000.
Dani Sonnen received the St. John Bosco Award and received medals for 4 years of Drama, 4 years of academic bowl, 3 years of basketball, 3 years of volleyball, 3 years of student government and an 80 hours of Apostolic Service Certificate. She would have been awarded several other scholarships depending on her choice of college. Since she is planning to attend LCSC she was awarded an LCSC Presidential Scholarship, $2,500, renewable for 4 years; Idaho County Fair Royalty Scholarship, $450; Idaho County Light & Power scholarship, $650; Farm Bureau Participation scholarship, $100; Idaho-Lewis County Cattle Association Scholarship, $1000 and an Idaho Opportunity Scholarship, $3,500, renewable for 4 years.

Cori (Wemhoff) Diesseldorff was the graduation speaker at St. John Bosco Academy.
