Girls wearing Levis
Taken from the Nov. 1946 Eagles Hi-Light
Written by: Billy Hill
“Girls are planning on wearing the pants in school from now on. The majority of the boys, I believe, are violently opposed, and few have turned incriminating looks upon the girls, and said with bitterness, “With such a shortage of available clothing, I have no desire to share what few pants that are available with them goofy dames.”
Of course if the girls desire pants we boys will not utter a word to curb their infatuation for our Levi’s as it must be admitted, they are a sensible type of clothing. However, they can hardly blame us for having a few pangs of regret when the girls will wear the pants in school.”
NOTE: Girls were never permitted to wear pants at Ferdinand High School.
