Craigmont June Picnic is this weekend
The annual Craigmont June Picnic is set for this weekend.
The event commemorates the 1920 “marriage” of the communities of Ilo and Vollmer to form Craigmont.
Events start on Friday, June 24, with a parent/child cornhole tournament at the city park starting at 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m. the Craigmont Lions Club Burger Barn will open. The Co-ed Softball Tournament at Tatko Field also gets underway and there is a Fundraiser for the Winchester Gun Club on Main Street.
There is also a social hour for the Grand Marshals at City Hall starting at 5 p.m. followed by a dinner at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, June 25, things kick off with a breakfast put on by the Country Kids 4-H Club at Woody’s Café starting at 7 a.m.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk starts at Highland School at 8 a.m. with registration starting at 7:30 a.m.
Also at 8 a.m. the Co-ed Softball Tournament continues and the Kelly Robertson Memorial Volleyball Tournament gets underway at the City Park.
At 9 a.m. the Lions Club Burger Barn opens again.
The Parade will get underway at 10 a.m. on Main Street with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. at A St. & Albion.
Prairie Imperial Bowl will have Bowling for a Buck from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Concessions will be at the City Park Area from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Ping Pong Ball Drop is slated for 11:30 a.m. at the City Park with Tom Gehring serving as pilot.
Kids Races start at 11:45 a.m. at the City Park.
At noon the American Legion BBQ gets started at the City Park.
A Quilts of Valor presentation will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Park.
From 1:30 to 3 p.m. there will be music in the Park.
The Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest gets started at 1 p.m. with judging at 3 p.m. in the City Hall Parking Lot.
The Horseshoe Tournament gets underway at 2 p.m. in the City Park area.
The Egg Toss is set for 4:30 p.m. on Main Street with registration starting at 3:45 p.m.
A Cornhole Tournament is set to start at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street near Woody’s with registration starting at 5 p.m.
The Street Dance gets started at 7 p.m. with music by “Vintage Youth”
The June Picnic Raffle Drawing will start at 8 p.m. followed by the Lions Club Raffle Drawing.
On Sunday, June 26, the Lions Club Burger Barn opens again at 9 a.m.
