Jacob Riener Memorial Volleyball Tournament is held
Prairie Elementary Gym was the sight of the annual Jacob Riener Memorial Volleyball Tournament that was played on Saturday, November 5th.
Eleven Teams from the surrounding area and Lewiston met to battle for first place.  Competition was intense and the fans were treated to some great and exciting volleyball!
The Jacob Riener Memorial Fund was established by Jacob’s family to honor him, his zest for life, and his courageous fight against cancer.  Jacob was 17 and a Junior at Prairie High School when, in just 19 short days from the diagnosis, he succumbed to testicular cancer.   Love for him is what brings these wonderful ladies to the tournament every year.  Proceeds from the donations to the Memorial Fund are used to provide area families and children with food baskets, Christmas gifts, and other help to families throughout the year.  Also, in the past a $500 graduation scholarship was given to a Prairie High School student for college.
Jacob’s family would like to say thank you to all the teams who participated and for your generous support to families in need.   A special thank you to Vikki Riener for her time and energy in setting up the tournament. We hope everyone had a great time and we hope to see all of you next year!
Donations to the Jacob Riener Memorial Fund can be made at any Cottonwood Credit Union location.  We thank you for your love and support! Prairie Elementary Gym was the sight of the annual Jacob Riener Memorial Volleyball Tournament that was played on Saturday, November 5th.
