VFW competition winners announced
The local VFW Post 4902 is very grateful to all those who attended the Veterans of Foreign Wars annual awards dinner Saturday, 12 Nov.  As always the local community support for our veterans was amazing and much appreciated.  We continue to have great participation in these contests and the entries really reflect the quality of our youth.
The Voice of Democracy theme is "Why is the Veteran Important?" and this year's winners are:

1st place:  Julia Rehder (Prairie)
2nd place:  Levi Wassmuth (St John Bosco)
3rd place: Hannah Schwartz (Prairie)
The Patriot's Pen  theme is "My Pledge to Our Veterans." and this year's winners are:
1st place:  Madaline Wassmuth (St John Bosco)
2nd place:  AnnaMae Cummings (St John Bosco)
3rd place:  Olivia Rieger (Prairie)
The Voice of Democracy first place winner and the first and second place winners for the Patriot's Pen will move on to the district competition.  
We would like to extend a special thanks to the judges, Pat Alfrey, Tammy Baldus and Tara Ross.

Julia Rehder was presented with the awards for taking 1st place in VFW Post 4902's Voice of Democracy competition. She receives the awards from Joe Riener and Dave Frei. She was then asked to share her winning speech with those in attendance at the VFW awards banquet.

Hannah Schwartz receives the 3rd place award in the Voice of Democracy competition. 2nd place winner Levi Wassmuth was unable to attend the banquet.

Madaline Wassmuth receives the awards for taking 1st place in the Patriot's Pen competition.

AnnaMae Cummings was the second place winner in the Patriot's Pen competition.

Olivia Rieger was the third place winner in the Patriot's Pen competition.
