The Prairie girls basketball team and coaches all wore special shirts in remembrance of Jerry “Jake” Wren at their home game against Genesee last Friday. Wren, who has 3 granddaughters this year’s team was also honored by announcer Gus Hoene. The lower photo is a closeup of two of his granddaughters, Lexi Schumacher and Kristin Wemhoff. Late in the Prairie boys game at Genesee on Saturday a technical foul was called against Genesee. With the game already decided, Prairie coach Tim Sheffler had senior Ryan Wemhoff shoot the free throws. The loudest cheer of the night from the Prairie fans came when Wemhoff made the first of the two free throws for his first ever varsity point. Photo by Megan Rambo.
