The Prairie Lady Pirates won 2 of their 3 games this past week. On Tuesday, Jan. 17, they got blitzed by Lapwai 29-62 at Cottonwood. On Thursday, Jan. 19, in a game rescheduled from December, they won at Kamiah 53-38. Finally on Saturday, Jan. 21, they traveled to Troy and won 56-21. . . .

St. John Bosco to celebrate Catholic Schools Week; Patriots swept by Kendrick
St. John Bosco will celebrate Catholic Schools Week in unity with other Catholic schools around the nation the week of January 29th - February 4th. . . .
St. John Bosco’s boys and girls team traveled to Kendrick on Tuesday, Jan. 17 and were beaten by the hosts. The girls lost 18-62 and then the boys lost 46-67. The girls also had a game scheduled at Cascade on Friday, Jan. 20 but we have no information on that game. . . .

Mary Schwartz won the local 2022 Branch 063 Fleet Reserve Association’s 12 Grade essay contest out of Lewiston and a $150 prize.  Her essay will now be going on to the regional competition with the possibility to be entered in the national competition and a chance at winning a $1,500 prize. The Prairie Lady Pirates will open District play by hosting a first round game at the PHS gym next Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. After that the tournament moves to Lewiston High School. This past Friday Cottonwood Butte Ski Area hosted the annual Prairie ski day for 4th through 8th grades. We had a great turnout! Thank you to all who volunteer to make this opportunity possible for our kids. We are looking forward to St. John Bosco and Highland schools to join us on February 3rd. This coming weekend we will be open Saturday and Sunday 10-4. With a few days of snow in the forecast this week, we should have perfect ski conditions! Axel Forsmann, Reagan Brannan, and Michael Forsmann represented the Prairie Pirates at the regional hoop shoot this past weekend. Reagan took 2nd place in her age group, Michael took 3rd, and Axel won in his age group, qualifying him for the state competition on Saturday, February 11th in Kellogg! Cottonwood wrestling took 6 kids to the Clearwater River Rumble tournament Sunday the 22ed we had one that placed  in the tournament.
