Haying season is winding down on the prairie but there's still work to be done. The top photo shows a windrow field seen west of Substation Rd. near Jim Remacle's. The middle photo of a field of round bales is off Meadowcreek Rd. about halfway between Ferdinand and Mariel's B & B and the bottom field is at the intersection of Riener Rd. and Meadowcreek Rd.

Participants at the Summer Reading Program at the Prairie Community Library last Thursday enjoyed a game of “Ranger May I?” following story time of the old west. The theme this year is Discover New Trails at Your Library, where the focus is on the Lewis-Clark Trail and new frontiers. It’s not too late to join the fun, each Thursday from 2:00-4:00, until August 12th.

The winners of the 2.5 and 5 mile runs of the Coyote Classic Fun Run held Saturday, July 17. See article for all the times and finishers and more photos.
