Girls Tournament update (2-7-08)--Prairie beat Troy 45-22. They will play Kendrick at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 with the winner earning third place and a trip to state.


Late scheduling change: PHS boys game against CV scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7 has been moved to Friday, Feb. 8. Varsity only at 3:15 p.m. at the PHS gym.

This month’s students of the month at Prairie Middle School were Gabe Angus and Derrick Falzon.  They received a pizza pan, toppings for pizza and crust, and a hat and apron to use when cooking it.  Enjoy boys!

Top achievers from the 2007 Idaho County Fair were recently presented camouflage vests by Primeland Cooperatives and CHS (Cenex Harvest States) for their feed purchases, which went toward developing their quality champion animals. Recipients were Kayla Uhlenkott (beef grand champion), Lucas Arnzen (beef reserve champion) Abbie Uhlenkott (swine reserve champion), Mason Dalgliesh (swine rate of gain champion), all of Cottonwood; Ally Cook (sheep grand champion), Bailey Cullin (goat grand champion), both of White Bird; Renea Holland (sheep reserve champion) of Riggins; Justin DeFord (swine grand champion) and Rachel Wemhoff (beef rate of gain champion), both of Grangeville; and Brook Eades (goat reserve champion) and Joey Roberts (sheep rate of gain champion), both of Kamiah. The Prairie Elementary School Spelling Bee took place Friday, February 1, 2008.
Our Champion speller is Kory Bahlman, above left, a third grade student in Mrs. Kim Schumacher’s Classroom.  Our First Runner-up speller is Alexis Shears, above right, a second grade student in Mrs. Richardson’s classroom.  The other classroom finalists were Chaye Uptmor, Bobby Kinch, Thomas Lowe, Jessica Shumway, Leah Higgins and Trista Latimer.  Congratulations to the winners as well as to everyone who participated.  Kory and Alexis will compete with other preliminary spelling bee winners from the Prairie Middle School on February 7th at 1:00 p.m. in the  middle school library.  Parents are welcome.
