VFW Post 4902 was handing out some appreciation awards last week. In the top photo Quartermaster Rick Johnson, Commander Dave Frei and David Armitage present Gary Riener of Riener’s Grocery with aan award of appreciation for all that he does for the Post. The Summer Reading Program at Prairie Community Library finished up Monday with one  of their smaller groups. They have had as many as 22 attend. It was the senior project of Kristyna Krogh and she had help from Alexis Hiler with Colleen Sonnen as the mentor. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Idaho County 4-H members became food scientists for a day as they experimented with how beverage formulations are made.  Participants learned about taste, applying principles of flavor, conducted sensory evaluations and explored packaging, label design and marketing while creating their new beverages.
