Pirates out in 2 games at District
The Prairie boys basketball team had a short stay at the District Tournament this year as they were eliminated after just 2 games. On Thursday, Feb. 15 they lost their opening round game at Kamiah 44-56. On Monday, Feb. 19, they were eliminated by Clearwater Valley 53-64 at Lewiston High School. . . .

Lady Pirates take third at State
For the second straight year the Prairie Lady Pirates finished third at State having been beaten in the semifinals by the eventual state champion. On Thursday, Feb. 15, the #5 seeded Pirates defeated the #4 seeded Murtaugh Red Devils 66-54. That was the only game in the entire 6 classifications at the state tournament where a lower seed defeated a higher seed. On Friday, Feb. 16 they ran into the #1 seeded Grace Grizzlies and lost 52-56. Finally on Saturday, Feb. 18, they defeated the #2 seeded Oakley Hornets 60-41 to earn the third place trophy. . . .
