Pirates win 1 of 5 games
The Prairie baseball team picked up their first win of the season, 18-7 over Lapwai at Lewiston Tuesday, March 19. They then lost 4 straight games. They lost 5-12 at Pomeroy on Wednesday, March 20. On Thursday and Friday, March 21-22, they took part in the Southfork Slugfest at Kooskia. On Thursday they lost to Liberty Christian of Richland, WA 3-5. On Friday they lost to North Star Charter 3-7 and to Bandon, OR 10-12. . . .

Track team competes at two meets
The Prairie track team competed at a pair of meets last week. On Tuesday, March 19, part of the team competed at an 11-school meet at Kamiah while the rest of the team, plus some who competed at Kamiah, competed at the Lewiston Invitational on Friday, March 22.
At the Lewiston Invitational on Friday Trenton Lorentz broke his own school record in the 200 meter dash while Matt Wemhoff and Elizabeth Severns each established new schools records in the javelin. . . .

Prairie Mountain Nutrition  volunteers were busy getting the lower level of the Cottonwood Community Hall cleaned and set up for senior citizen dinners to resume there on Tuesday, April 2.
