Over the weekend the community buried another young person. Last Wednesday morning, Feb. 16, Thomas Nau, 15, of Ferdinand died in a one-vehicle accident near the high school.
Thomas was the son of Susan and Mike Nau. Mike farms near Ferdinand and Susan works at the hospital and is an EMT. . . .

Four earn trip to state wrestling meet
Members of the Prairie Wrestling Team earned 3 medals with 4 wrestlers qualifying for State during  the District Wrestling Meet at Orofino Saturday, Feb. 19. 
Nick Uhlenkott at 145 lbs. and Shane Poxleitner at 135 lbs. each placed second while Logan Lustig at 215 lbs. placed third to earn medals. Richard Sonnen at 145 lbs. placed fourth to earn a trip to state.
Only Tony Duman at 130 lbs. and Kenneth Enneking who missed the tournament to attend a classmate’s funeral, didn’t make it to state. . . .

Students of the month for February at Prairie High School are Dakota Klinkefus, outstanding student and Ashley Schaeffer, honor student. 

Webelos Scouts Seth Chaffee, Frank Spencer and Matthew Jungert had the opportunity to tour the St. Mary’s Cottonwood Physical Therapy. The staff was very informative on how they should stay physically and mentally fit. Thank you for your encouragement Betty Beckman, Jeremy Pettinger and Sarah Haukedahl.

The PHS band provided entertainment and support at the boys District game Monday.

The PHS dance team provided halftime entertainment during the District play-in game against Kendrick.
