Ariel Whitley, senior at Prairie High School, is being honored for qualifying as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Every year, about 1.3 million students take the PSAT test, and only 16,000 qualify as semi-finalists. Only a small portion of semi-finalists go on to qualify as finalists. She is awarded this honor because she was able to score in the 99th percentile in the PSAT test. As a result of earning a finalist position, she has been offered over $150,000 in college scholarships across the country.

Last week Angie Latimer showed Prairie High School art students how she pours her ceramic molds. They poured Easter eggs, chicks and bunnies. The process is difficult to explain. By actually pouring the molds, students could see how the process works. The results were exciting.

The PHS Dance team performed at halftime of the boys game against Kendrick at the District Tournament.
