On June 10 & 11 Boy Scout Troop 638, along with 4 Webelos Scouts went across the river to do a service project on the Joseph Cemetery. Between the boys and adults we were able to clean the cemetery in about 3 hours. Everyone worked together and were very respectful in what they were doing.  Friday we got there and set up our camp. The boys were challenged to make their own shelter with limbs and wood that they found. It was pretty interesting what they came up with. They survived the night. They also did a compass course, climbed trees, toasted a pine cone over the fire-it tasted a little sour, sampled a worm and more. We are already making plans to go up again if time permits this summer. If anyone knows any history of the cemetery, please let one of us know. Shown front from left are Seth Chaffee, Chris Bradley and Drew Cochran. Back from left are Shari Chaffee, Aleta Coppernoll, Carson Schmidt, Keith Coppernoll, Dan Karel, Anthony Karel, Jared Coppernoll, Matt Coppernoll and Hunter Chaffee. Photo provided by Shari Chaffee.
