Prairie juniors and seniors traveled to the University of Idaho campus a couple of weeks ago to explore majors and housing options.  Each student chose two areas of interest from the following list and attended a presentation about them:  Pre-Health majors (medical, dental, nursing, etc), education, business, engineering, agriculture, art & architecture, and natural resources.  The students also chose either a tour of the residence housing (dorm rooms) or Greek housing (sorority/fraternity).  We finished out the visit with a trip to the campus cafeteria for an all-you-can eat buffet.  It's important to get students on college campuses during high school so they can get a feel for what college might be like, explore opportunities and ask questions.  A big thank you to Glenn Poxleitner and Dave Shears for being our bus drivers for the day!  GEAR UP Idaho funding and Idaho college and career readiness funds paid for this trip.  The above photo shows some of the students trying to stay warm while they wait for the next presentation to begin.  The weather was brisk, but it was a great trip.  Photo provided by PHS.
