We had a beautiful walk Saturday, thanks to Jason Rambo and Christine from NICI. We had 18 walkers, 51 miles walked with a total of 504 miles. Christine had inspirational signs along the path as we walked to support the troops. She also had prizes available for walkers as they returned! Thank you Christine. In addition to the walk, we received a lesson on wildflowers from Jean Melching. We were given a piece of paper with names and descriptions of wildflowers that we would see. She had wildflowers marked along the way and we tried to identify flowers as we walked. Barbara Cleary won the prize by identifying all of them correctly. Also, Thank you to Donna Kopczynski for giving us a talk on why walking is good for our heart. She had handouts, demonstrations, answered questions and lots of information. Thank you Donna for all the information! The final walk, free health screenings and drawing will be held this Saturday May 26th, at St. Gertrude’s Monastery. Flyer attached. Please spread the word….this is our first year trying to hold a walk on Memorial day weekend. Hope we have good attendance! Spread the word! Share with family/friends here for graduations. Something fun for the families to do. Thank you for all your help! Click on the photo for a larger view.
