Lady Pirates win 2 of 3
The Prairie Lady Pirates lost a non-league game to Grangeville this past week, then bounced back to win a pair of league games against Kamiah and Logos. On Tuesday, Jan. 11, they lost to Grangeville at Cottonwood 37-49. On Thursday, Jan. 13, they beat Kamiah 52-19, also at Cottonwood. Finally, on Saturday, Jan. 15, they traveled to Moscow and beat Logos 81-28. . . .

The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots won 1 of 3 league games this past week. On Tuesday, Jan. 11, they lost at Nezperce 26-44. On Thursday, Jan. 13 they lost at Kendrick 17-58. Finally on Friday, Jan. 14, they picked up their first win of the season when the beat Highland 46-24 at Cottonwood. . . .

Here are a few samples of the beautiful barn quilts that were painted on Saturday evening. This event took place at the Cottonwood Community Center basement which was hosted by Brenda's Paint Parties.  Pictured in the upper photo are Summer, Natasha and Janis. Apparently there is a large flock of wild turkeys nesting in town. Donn Clark spotted this group crossing Front Street near the trestle and said he just missed taking a photo of a string of about 50 of them. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Mike Tatko of the Avista Foundation presents a $1000 check to Raina Frei and Brad Fischer, members of the Board of Directors of Prairie Imperial Bowl. The money will help cover the cost of a lighting upgrade at the bowling alley not covered by the Avista rebate program. Click on the photo for a larger view.
