Bottom photo-Youngsters anxiously await the start of auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Robin Hood” on Monday afternoon at the PES gym.

By 1:30 p.m. Monday there wasn’t much left of the Gem Builders building as it was demolished to make way for a new building.

Shown are the actors for the annual Greencreek Play which will be performed on Friday, March 16 at the Greencreek Hall. Back from left: Abbigail Lustig, Jacquie Lustig, Vit Spanhel, Dustin Lustig, Steven Baerlocher and Justin Stubbers . Front from left are: Brad Killmar, Calista Karel, Tara Stubbers, Danielle Stubbers, Jordan Killmar and Kevin Karel. Not pictured are Brianne Stubbers and Tabitha Sonnen. See story at left for details on the play and dinner.

First graders in Cindy Schumacher class at Prairie Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss's Birthday on March 2nd, 2007. The day was spent celebrating books and reading! The children also made their traditional "green eggs and ham" in recognition of one of their favorite Dr. Seuss books. This was a fun day spent in honor of Dr. Seuss's contribution to children's literature. The children were pleasantly surprised with a visit from the "Cat in the Hat" himself (a.k.a. Sue Sonnen).

Wearing his red and white striped hat, Mr. Greg Deiss, principal of Prairie Elementary, is reading his favorite Dr. Seuss book to Mrs. Schumacher's first grade students.

The people in the picture are Mr. Richardson, Nick Johnson, Corey Schaeffer, Steve Baerlocher, Ben Schumacher, Eric Daly, and Tate Smith. Mr. Richardson received a grant for his program from the Region II Tech Prep coordinator Tate Smith. The large printer, rotary engraver and wide angle lens will help students with architectural and mechanical drawings and work on the laser. The value of the equipment is worth $2750.00. Last year the program received 6 computers, and with the help of a former student, new countertops in the drafting room.

Five Prairie Youth Choir members were recently recognized for 3 years of participation and membership in the Prairie Youth Choir - Logan Dahlen, Nicole Devorak, Rachel Falzon, Martina Everson, and Katherine Nida. The Prairie Youth Choir is open to all students in the 3rd - 6th grades in the greater Cottonwood area. (Katherine Nida was unavailable for picture.)

Above are two photos of the middle school students enjoying their crochet projects. If anyone has yarn they could donate, Mrs. Lundmark would really appreciate it because the yarn supply for the students is getting low so any unwanted yarn is welcomed, even odd balls.
