Pirates win 3 of 5 games
The Prairie baseball team finished their regular season with 3 games this past week. On Tuesday, May 2 they split a doubleheader with Kendrick, winning the first game 9-8 and losing the second 5-15. On Monday, May 8 they played Lapwai in a game to determine third place in the league standings and won 11-5 at Lewiston. 
The Pirates finished the season with a third place finish in the White Pine League and hosted Clearwater Valley Tuesday in a District play-in game that also amounted to a State play-in game as the winner qualified for State. Unfortunately the Pirates lost that play-in game 7-22 and their season is over.

Uptmor breaks school record in 1600, again
Chaye Uptmor shaved another 11 seconds off the school record she set just a week earlier in the 1600 at the Meet of Champions at Lewiston Thursday, May 4. Her time of 5:31.30 was good enough for third at the meet but was 11.10 seconds under her school record from last week. . . .

Youngsters from the Center for Discovery helped Cottonwood Mayor Shelli Schumacher and city clerk Carol Altman plant some Siberian Peashrubs  along the west perimeter of the city park Monday afternoon. The plants were purchased with an Arbor Day grant. Click on each photo for a larger view.

The Board of Directors of Summit Academy request the honor of your presence for Senior Graduation on Friday, May 19th, 2017.  Mass celebrated by Bishop Peter Christensen at Holy Cross Chapel, Keuterville, Idaho at five o’clock in the evening.  Commencement Exercises to follow at Summit Academy, Cottonwood, Idaho at six thirty.  Dessert reception will follow commencement.
