Pirates stay alive at District
The Prairie boys basketball team struggled on offense against Potlatch in their District opener and lost 33-38 Thursday, Feb. 14 at the LCSC Activity Center in Lewiston. They bounced back Monday, Feb. 18 with a 67-32 win over Genesee at Cottonwood to start the long trek to a possible state berth. . . .
Late update-Prairie beat Troy Tuesday, 76-49. They play Wallace at Post Falls Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. If they win they would play the Oakley-Glenns Ferry winner Saturday, Feb. 23 at McCall at 1 p.m. MST.

Lady Pirates win 1 of 3 at State
After a promising start, Prairie wound up losing 2 of their 3 games at State and finished without a trophy for the first time since 2011.
At Columbia High School in Nampa, Prairie opened the tournament with a dominant 78-31 win over District 3 champion Notus on Thursday, Feb. 14. On Friday, Feb. 15 they lost 27-30 to eventual champion Shoshone. On Saturday, Feb. 16 they lost in the third place game to Lapwai 64-67. . . .
