Remodeling is going on at the old Royale Hotel Building as Ryan Uhlenkott is having it converted to move The Habit into a larger space.  Click on the photo for a larger view.

When the false front on the old Royale Hotel Building was taken down, a storefront appeared for the “Beauty Crest Salon.” Apparently it had been covered up both inside and out. Does anyone remember who might have run this business? Because we don’t know. Not long after Rick Johnson took this photo, the panel with the salon name was covered back up.  Click on the photo for a larger view.

The Idaho Transportation Dept. chipsealed the Highway 95 Business Loop last Tuesday. The above photo shows the tar being laid down on King Street as a pilot car leads traffic past the equipment. ITD has also been busy on the main highway chip sealing in the Craigmont area as well as from the end of the concrete almost to Grangeville. Click on the photo for a larger view.

A couple more photos of the chipsealing with the upper photo in front of the Kuther Building and the lower one in front of the Community Hall. Click on each photo for a larger view.

Above are some pictures of the 1st & 2nd Graders from St. John Bosco Academy who  had a Lemonade & Cookie Stand on Thursday, August 22nd at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Parking lot. The top photo shows the girls inside the booth. The middle photo shows Nora Johnson, Brooklynn Spencer, Madeline Stubbers, Madison Duman, Marie Duman, & Audra Spencer. The bottom photo has Denise Mager as a customer at the Lemonade stand. Together the girls sold Freshly Squeezed Lemonade, Home Bake Goodies and water to raise a big $509.75 for the Hope & Pregnancy Center in Grangeville. The girls would like the community to know how grateful they are for supporting them! Photos by Shirley Stubbers. Click on each photo for a larger view.

Shown is the 1961-62 St. Gertrude’s Academy Panthers basketball team. According to head coach Jake Wren, kneeling in front with ball, “What you see is what was left after we had about 15 or 16 turnout, several from Greencreek and Ferdinand because the schools were closed that year. Several quit, a few were "booted," and a couple of guys in the pic have passed on, Gary Forsmann and Leroy Frei. The managers are Glen Stolz and Francis  Entrup. The "survivors" in the pic, left to right are Jon Foltz, Mick Wimer, George Terhaar, Gary Forsmann, Roy Arnzen, Tim Uhlenkott, Rick Gehring, Ray Brady, and Leroy Frei. Submitted by Jake Wren. Photo sent to him by George Terhaar. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Connie Schumacher, left, received an appreciation award  from Board member Joyce Gehring Sonnen for her years of service to the Idaho County Fair during the fashion show. Click on the photo for a larger view.
