Santa listened to this young ladies Christmas wish list as he set up at the fire station after the Christmas Parade Sunday. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Students of the month for November at Prairie Jr./Sr. High School are shown. From left are Austin Sonnen, Cody Lockhart and Casey Danly. Austin Sonnen has gone above and beyond for fundraisers and is the first to volunteer for any task.  He is extremely conscientious and considerate of others.   Austin gives 100% at all times.  Cody Lockhart is always kind to peers and faculty and gives every task his best. Elks Hoop Shoot winner from Cottonwood – Students will compete in January in Grangeville with other area schools. In the top photo are 12-13 year old winners Brandon Anderson 18 out of 25  and Haley Danly 17 out of 25. In the lower photo are 8-9 year old division – Derik Shears – 14 shots; Madison Shears – 10 shots, Runner up Damian Forsmann – 13 shots; 10-11 year old division – Spencer Schumacher – 19; Jordyn Higgins – 7. December attendance winners – 5/6 grade, Kade Zenner; 2/3/4 grade, Justin Weaver; K/1 grade, Taeler Key; Brylee Wood, Perfect attendance for December. Students received snow gifts- snow fort maker, snow tube, snowball maker.
 
Mrs. Sonnen is proud of her 3rd grade math students and how they are progressing through the Accelerated Math Program.  Students with the most objectives completed as of December 16. Cottonwood Volunteer Firemen work to douse a fire started at the end of the railroad tie pile. It was allegedly started by youngsters using some of the ties to make forts. Police Chief Terry Cochran requests those calling in something like this call 911. If you call him, he has to then call 911 so the fire department can be dispatched.
