On Saturday, December 1st, the Cottonwood Girl Scout Troop 3785 held a baked food sale to benefit the International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF).  One of our Junior Scouts, Audrey Drake, has a cousin named Chloe with Rett Syndrome.   Audrey suggested the troop do a fundraiser to raise money for this cause.  Thanks to the generous support from individuals and businesses the troop raised $232.50.  Special thanks goes to the Cottonwood Chronicle for helping get information about the baked sale out to the pubic.  Also, thanks goes Erin Shears at the Center for Discovery for letting the girls have their baked sale during the shopping day at Prairie Elementary School.  We are so lucky to live in such a caring community.  Anyone who wants more information about Rett Syndrome or IRSF can go to their website at http://www.rettsyndrome.org/. Shown back from left are Holli Schumacher, Chloe Rowland, Trinity Martinez, Leann Lightfield, John Lightfield, Audrey Drake and Rachael Gimmeson. Front from left are Ciara Chaffee, Madison Shears and Anna Everson. Photo by Shari Chaffee. Click on the photo for a larger view.

On Thursday December 20th the Cub Scouts went Christmas caroling at the hospital and the condominiums.  We enjoyed singing to the patients and meeting the residents of the condos.  We were treated to juice and cookies from the kitchen staff.  We would like to thank Cheri Holthaus for helping to make this possible for us. Back Row from left are: Herb Lindsey, Matt Coppernoll, Anthony Karel. Middle Row:  Dallas Lindsey, James Biltz, Caleb Butler, Jordan Farnworth, Morgan Poxleitner, Keenan Shears.
