Students of the year for Prairie High School are Kylie Uhlorn, left, honor student of the year, and Laura Gehring, outstanding student of the year. They were chosen from the monthly winners.

Hope Vanator and Justin Schmidt (top photo) were the student attendance winners at Prairie Middle School. They both received a beach fun gift that included a beach towel, frisbee, iced tea container and a water bottle. There was also a teacher attendance award given this month at Prairie Middle School which was given to Becky Higgins (bottom photo). She received a goodie basket. 


Saturday was Yard Sale day in Cottonwood. Above are two photos from around town. The top photo shows a Relay For Life yard sale at the Mini-Village and the lower photo is at the Greg and Lydia Deiss home.

Every year the Bureau of Land Management has a coloring contest for Prairie students during Wildflower week. This year the 4th and 5th graders participated. This year’s winners were Daniella Wilde, 1st place, Casey Danly, second and Jessica Kaschmitter third. Each received a shirt and certificate. Shown are Lynn Danly, Casey Danly and Jessica Kaschmitter. 

Kylie Uhlorn, second from left, was presented an Idaho Association of Counties $1,000 scholarship by the Lewis County Commissioners on Monday, June 4 at the Lewis County Courthouse. From left they are Don Davis, Chuck Doty and Carroll Keith. 

Learning about trapping animals for food and fur was one of 10 stations at the 4th grade Idaho History Rendezvous held at the Idaho County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, May 30. Students from Cottonwood, Grangeville and Nezperce participate.
