Prairie Booster Club president Chris Kaschmitter presents a check for $200 to Greg Deiss, principle at Prairie Elementary School to be used where needed at the school.

Dr. Sam Couch in the Chapel at the Kylemore Abbey, home of a group of Benedictine sisters in County Galway, Ireland. Couch is the new director at the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude. See story above left.

Jordyn Higgins and Spencer Schumacher, from Prairie Elementary School, brought home trophies Saturday from the Grangeville Elks Hoop Shoot contest.  After winning their divisions at Prairie Elementary School, they went on to compete with winners from Grangeville Elementary, St. Peter and Paul, Kamiah, Clearwater Valley, Summit, Nez Perce, Craigmont, and Salmon River.  Jordyn took first place in the 8-9 year old girls division and will go on to compete in the next round in Lewiston on February 5th.  Spencer took second place in the 10-11 year old boys division.  Garrett Crenshaw also competed from Prairie Elementary.  Way to go Pirates!!

Winners at Prairie Elementary School in the Elk’s Club Hoop Shoot were, from left, Garrrett Crenshaw  Boys 8-9 winner  12 baskets out of 25 attempts; Spencer Schumacher  Boys 10-11 winner   15 baskets out of 25 attempts and Jordyn Higgins Girls 8-9 winner   10 baskets out of 25 attempts. They went on to compete at Grangeville this past weekend. See photo above.

Prairie Middle School’s qualifiers for the Grangeville Elks Club Hoop Shoot were, from left, Tanner Ross 12-13  year olds, Sarah Seubert 12-13  year olds and Caitlin Renne’ 10-11   year olds. Renne’ brought home a 3rd place trophy from the competition at Grangeville Saturday, Jan. 8th.

From left, Leah Holthaus, Brandi Gehring, Jacey Langston, Stephanie Gimmeson, and various other students in the cabinetmaking classes made 6 rocking chairs like the one pictured for Christmas presents for Angel Tree at St. Mary’s Hospital. The one in the picture is being donated to the Community Library.
