The Prairie Lady Pirates played the bottom and then the top of the league in their final 2 regular season games. On Thursday, Jan. 26 they played cellar-dwelling Clearwater Valley at Cottonwood on Senior Night and won by a score of 69-13. Then on Saturday they closed out their regular season with a 36-56 loss at Lapwai. . . .

Summit girls still alive at District
The Summit Academy Lady Patriots won 2 of 4 games this past week including a District play-in game. On Tuesday, Jan. 24 they hosted Nezperce and lost 32-44. On Wednesday, Jan. 25 they played their makeup game at Timberline and won 44-17 to clinch the hosting of their play-in game against the Spartans. On Saturday, Jan. 28, they closed out their regular season with a home loss to Logos, 34-39. Finally on Monday, Jan. 30 they beat Timberline again, 52-19, in a District Tournament play-in game at Cottonwood. With Monday’s win Summit advances to another loser-out game at #3 seed Kendrick on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.. . .

A couple of photos of C’est La V’s, a new eating establishment in Cottonwood at the old Coffee Mill site in the Mini-Mall. In the top photo owner Veronica Johnson is behind the counter. The lower photo  shows some of the chairs and small tables although it is not intended to be a sit-down type of restaurant, aiming for the take out order crowd. See story at left. The annual Hunter Education/Gun Safety was recently held at the Prairie Elementary School.  They had 35 students complete the course. Click on the photo for a larger view.
