Brock Heath won both the 1600 and 3200 at a 12 team track meet at Kamiah Tuesday, April 14. . . .
Kyler Shumway again broke the Prairie school record in the shot put but this time it was only good enough for second place in the event at the Pasco Invitational at Pasco, Wash., Saturday, April 18. . . .

Valedictorian for the class of 2009 is Emily Lerandeau (right).  Emily is the daughter of Mike and Marilyn Lerandeau of Cottonwood and has a cumulative grade point average (cgpa) of 3.97.   She has been active in her school, and community doing volunteer work for the Cottonwood Fire Department and Community Library, helping with annual hat and mitten drive sponsored at Prairie High School.  She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and been secretary and president.  Emily has been a member of 4-H having exhibited pigs for 8 years, been in cooking, scrapbooking, Making the Most of Me and on the fashion board.  She has also held various after school jobs and been in sports. Salutatorian is Kristi Poxleitner (left), daughter of Ed and Jackie Poxleitner of Keuterville. She has maintained a 3.90 cgpa at Prairie High School.  Kristi is ASB president this year and has been in volleyball, basketball and cheerleading.  She is a member of National Honor Society and vice president this year.  Besides ASB president, Kristi has been spirit leader, class vice president, BPA president and vice president, a member of PAVE , Prairie League and local 4-H clubs.  Kristi is an Idaho County 4-H Ambassador for 3 years.  Kristi has had several different jobs after school and is a librarian at the elementary during the school day.
