Lady Pirates win District title; State at Airport Park in Lewiston
For the first time since 2013 the Lady Pirates are District Champions after an 8-5 win over Genesee Saturday, May 13 at Orofino in the District Championship game. Earlier in the day they beat Kendrick 15-9 to clinch a trip to State Earlier in the week they ended the regular season with a huge comeback win over Genesee, 12-11 in 8 innings on Tuesday, May 9. On Thursday, May 11 they eliminated Kamiah 17-2 in a District play-in game.  . . .

The Prairie High School Class of 2017has two valedictorians and two salutatorians.  This year’s valedictorians are Chaye Uptmor and Grant Gehring.  They have both maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout their high school careers. Chaye is the daughter of Roger and Christine Uptmor.  She plans to attend the College of Idaho; majoring in Health and Human Sciences.  Chaye has been involved in volleyball, basketball, track and field and Prairie League.  Grant is the son of Mark and Rachel Gehring. He will attend the University of Idaho and major in Engineering.  Grant has been involved in basketball, cross country and track.  Our Salutatorians for the Class of 2017 are Nicole Poxleitner and Tyson Schlader, they both maintained a 3.9778 GPA throughout high school. Nicoleis the daughter of Glenn and Loretta Poxleitner; she is planning to attend the University of Idaho and major in Animal Science. Nicole participated in volleyball, track and concert/pep band; she was also active in Prairie League and FFA. Tyson Schlader is the son Scot and Shelley Schlader; he plans to attend the University of Idaho and will major in Engineering.  Tyson was involved in football and basketball.  Congratulations to these four very deserving students.  Pictured from left are Uhlenkott, Schlader, Gehring and Uptmor. The Prairie Booster Club would like to congratulate our spring athletes on their successes this spring.  We were able to purchase baseballs for the baseball team, a portable pitching screen for the girl's softball team (shown above with the softball team), and a donation of $3,000 to the track project.  We are so lucky to have such great athletes, coaches, and parents in our community!  We wish the girls softball team and the track team the best of luck at their state competitions this week!  We are proud of all of you!
