The 5th grade Prairie Pirates passed their hunter safety course recntly! They are all ecstatic to have their hunter orange hats! This is alway a great week each year for these students to experience! It was a beautiful day for St. Mary's Health first 2025 Walk the Prairie and Beyond Salmon River Walk.  Cottonwood Fit and Fall group hosted the walk and had 52 participants.  Medals made by Dan Cleary were given to each participant. Dan created one for each walk and there will be a prize for the one who collects the most.  Mary Funke was the winner of the drawing.  Thanks to Cottonwood Police Chief, Terry Cochran for coming to provide assistance if needed.  Monday night Prairie recognized their Seniors in their last Knowledge Bowl meet as Pirates; Monica Goeckner, Rachel Schumacher, Hannah Schwartz, Johnathon Martin, Peter Remacle,  Clarise Rehder and Grace Uhlenkott for all their hard work and dedication, thanks for all the memories, you guys will be greatly missed.   Lastly, we want to send a big thank you out to Coach Darbie Duclos for all her hard work and time put to this group and this team this year.  Photo by Matt Elven. Click on the photo for a larger view.


Staff from both Prairie Elementary School (top photo) and Prairie High School (bottom photo) attended the Scratch for Schools event on March 10th at LCSC. Both schools were one of the top 7 finishers out of 53 schools. Money will be used to help support various activities for the Prairie Pirates. Denise Uhlenkott, Shelley Schalder and Mr. Rehder competed for the elementary school. Mr. Elven, Mr. Coffelt, and Mrs. Labrum competed for the high school.
