Pirates win 5 straight
The Prairie Pirates have put together a 5-game winning streak. They started with a 31-4 win over Nezperce on Tuesday, April1 5 at Cottonwood. On Thursday, April 17, they won 18-2 at Nezperce. On Saturday, April 19, they traveled to Genesee and swept the Bulldogs 8-5 and 25-8. Finally on Monday, April 21, they traveled to Lewiston and defeated Lapwai 17-1.. . .

The Prairie Track & Field team hosted a pair of track meets this past week. On Tuesday, April 15, they hosted the Prairie Invite and on Saturday, April 19, they hosted the White Pine League Championships for the first time ever. . . .

Trenton Lorentz takes the baton from Ben Secrest in the 4x100 relay at state last May, one of 4 gold medals and 4 state meet records he was a part of. He was named the 1A-3A boys track athlete of the year at the North Idaho Hall of Fame Banquet Saturday, April 12. The banquet was held in Coeur d’Alene.

A fundraiser is set for next Friday, May 2 at the Elks in Grangeville for the 5 HOSA students at Prairie that are heading to Nationals at Nashville in June to help pay expenses. Click on the photo for a larger view.
