Lady Pirates win 2 of 4
The Prairie Lady Pirates split their final two regular season games then opened District play. On Thursday, May 1, they lost 9-10 to Clearwater Valley at Cottonwood when the Rams scored 6 runs in the top of the seventh. On Senior Night against Kendrick on Friday, May 2, they held off a rally by the Tigers to win 19-12. Finally on Monday, May 5, they traveled to Genesee where they beat Kendrick 21-11 and then lost to Potlatch 3-17. . . .

Each year in May, every VFW Post conducts a Day of Service to their Community.   This year Cottonwood VFW Post 4902 washed and cleaned inside, the local firetrucks of the Cottonwood Fire Department.  Shown are  Post members Rick Johnson,  Joe Kuther, Commander Dave Frei, and Joe Riener. The Day of Service encourages nearly 6,000 posts worldwide to engage in community service projects, ranging from small local activities to large-scale events.
