A rendering of the proposed site for Simmons Sanitation’s transfer and sorting station. The containment building is where locals would bring their loads. They would drive inside where there would be several bins for types of waste plus recyclables. See story at left. Click on the photo for a larger view.

There are six young ladies vying to be part of the 2026 Idaho County Fair Royalty. Top from left are Ella McLeod, Mikayla Rowland and Molly Fowler. Bottom from left are Avery Grace Brown, Bethany Stowell and Ellie Kouril. See article above left.  Click on the photo for a larger view.

The new Pixellot camera has been installed at the PHS gym. It is located above the upper tier seating. From this location they would also be able to stream graduation and plays. One was also  installed at the football field. The middle photo shows the gym floor from the camera and the bottom photo shows the scoreboard from the camera sticking out from the left side of the Pixellot. A subscription to NFHS is needed to view the games with some of your subscription money going back to the school. It will be a better viewing experience than the Facebook Live streaming the school had been using.  Photos by Jon Rehder. Click on each photo for a larger view.

The city was doing some underground utility work on Broadway in front of the old hardware store building last week. Click on each photo for a larger view.

Frank Bruno’s house he is building on Church Street between Lewiston and School Streets is nearing completion. It has been a project of his for the past couple of years. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Father Gerry Funke found some photos amongst his mother Theresa Funke’s possessions and thought he would share them. Above is the class of 1948 of Greencreek High School from a concert in either 1946-47 or 47-48. Gerry was able to identify a few people. Top row left is Maynard Arnzen. 2 spots to Arnzen’s left is his mother Theresa (Schumacher) Funke. 2nd from right is Wesley Nuxoll. 2nd from left in the second row from the top is Emelia (Stubbers) Frei. Third from left in the third row is Eleanor (Schmidt) Hinkelman. At far right of the third row we believe is Ron Sonnen. Can anyone identify any of the others?  Click on the photo for a larger view.

Another photo shared by Gerry Funke is the 1945 Greencreek Tigers basketball team. We believe this is the first year Greencreek had a team and that we have printed this one before but so far haven’t been able to find it. Funke identifies the players as second from left is Edward Schumacher, #4 is a Wassmuth, #10 is an Arnzen, we believe that is Clifford, and then the next 3 are Carl Schmidt, Bart Nuxoll and Don Tacke. We had no identification for the young man in front. Their first coach the St. Anthony’s priest, standing at left. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Gerry Funke also shared this photo of the 1948 Greencreek Tigers basketball team. We found identifications for this from a copy of the photo originally shared by Eleanor Hinkelman back in 2008. Back from left are coach Clark Hinkelman, Mark Schaff, Arthur Nuxoll, Ted Nuxoll, Teddy Wessels, Ray Stubbers, Urban (Shorty) Arnzen and Maynard Arnzen. Front from left are George Baerlocher, Wesley Nuxoll, Ed Schmidt, Gene VonBargen and Ronald Sonnen. Click on the photo for a larger view.
